NAB day #2
Well it's time for some corrections. It's called the Octopack, not the Octoplus, the new 8 channel receiver module from Lectrosonics. The digital D4 transmitter & receiver work in the 902 MHz to 928 MHz block. I need some help on how that'll work in New Zealand. Forthcoming issues of NZ Video News will feature stories from NAB on Sound Devices new products, Lectrosonics D4, Octopack and new HM plug-on transmitter, the Countryman E6s mic, Versa-flex harnesses and cases and developments at Nagra Audio. I'm about to go and investigate the rumour that someone has developed an app for the iPhone which turns it into a radio transmitter to work for leading brands of receivers ;-) Did you know the sound mixer on Slumdog Millionare used Sanken shotgun mics and a Versa-flex harness to carry his gear? Yes, the attendance must be about 2/3 of the usual crowd. All our suppliers have been busy but still had time to talk about projects they have planned. I hope the economy picks up soon because there are great ideas waiting to get the green light.
