Digital Switch-Over for New Zealand TV plan released
Radio Spectrum Management and the Ministry for Culture & Heritage have released the discussion document for Digital Switch-Over (DSO) when analogue TV is closed down and superceded by digital broadcasting.
I fail to see how 22 digital TV blocks = 20+ HD channels to 120+ SD channels can be utilised in Auckland. We struggle to provide content for the 10 or so on air now. There's 7 full power stations in New York and 11 in Los Angeles so 22, even with infill, in super city Auckland is a crowded market for a population of 1 million - Thanks Dave Madigan for the statistics.
